Safety And Security

The main aspects of student safety and security a school should be aware and practice in their administration and campus are:

Physical security

It is essential to keep the school environment including the school buildings, premises, playgrounds, laboratories, computer rooms, libraries, toilets, drinking water facilities, school buses, transport area and the surrounding areas safe and secure. School buildings should be built to ensure safety and be more resilient to hazards. When it comes to any catastrophe, whether natural or man-made, the school administration should train staff, teachers as well as students to be better aware and prepared to respond.

Visual Security

Installing CCTV cameras at strategic locations across school premises ensures that a child's day-to-day life in school is constantly being monitored and recorded. This allows schools to be vigilant and constantly be on the lookout for any forms of child abuse, whether physical or emotional. The staff can then be trained to understand key indicators of child abuse, and be prepared to respond instantly to inappropriate or harmful behaviour.

CCTV cameras installed in key strategic locations across the campus not only provide peace of mind, but also a sense of prevention, preparedness and response. The security cameras can be effective in school safety investigations, or even act as deterrents to such behaviour.

Health, Hygiene & Sanitation

The school maintains the highest standards of health, hygiene and sanitation across its campus. Regular measures are taken to ensure a clean, safe and healthy environment for all students, staff and visitors.

  • Hand Sanitizer Stations: Automatic and manual hand sanitizer dispensers are installed at all entry/exit points, outside every classroom, at the canteen, laboratories, library, computer labs, and common areas. Students and staff are encouraged to sanitize their hands regularly throughout the day.
  • Drinking Water Quality: The school ensures safe and purified drinking water through RO water purification systems installed across the campus. Regular water quality testing is conducted by certified laboratories. The latest water sample test report from Bhilai Institute of Technology (BIT), Durg confirms that all water quality parameters are within the permissible limits as per IS 10500 standards. • Toilet & Washroom Hygiene: All washrooms are cleaned multiple times daily by dedicated housekeeping staff. Liquid soap dispensers, hand wash stations, and paper towel/hand dryer facilities are provided in every washroom. Separate and adequate toilet facilities are available for boys and girls.
  • Classroom & Campus Cleanliness: All classrooms, corridors, and common areas are cleaned and sanitized daily. Dustbins are placed at regular intervals throughout the campus for proper waste segregation and disposal.
  • Health Awareness: Regular health and hygiene awareness sessions are conducted for students. Proper handwashing techniques, personal hygiene practices, and cleanliness habits are taught as part of the school's health education programme.
  • Medical Room: A well-equipped medical room with first aid supplies is available on campus. A trained nurse/medical attendant is present during school hours to attend to any health emergencies.
